Up in the Air

Hello, Fiddler Kin! I hope all is well for my beautiful family members; I'm thankful for the updates you all post about your lives in the Midwest. Keep it up. Beth, I'm looking forward to another photo of your gorgeous grin!! And I hope I'll see some more photos of my handsome second cousins soon. :-)

Things are interesting here right now. Here's a rundown of the events of the past week:

1. On Monday, on my way to work (spring break, yes, but I got A LOT done), I ran a stop sign and got pulled over. I felt like a tool. I didn't even realize I'd run through the intersection, and it's my normal route to work. I apologized to the officer, and I was ready to pay the consequences for my lack of attention, but I got off with a warning ... I guess, because I didn't have a record? First time being pulled over. I'm keeping my warning in the car as a reminder to PAY ATTENTION -- so I don't cause an accident or hurt someone.

2. On Wednesday, while I was at work, I got a call from Wichita State. Apparently, they want to interview me after all. My campus visit is this Sunday-Tuesday (March 21-23), and my flight arrives early enough on Sunday that I think my folks will drive down to W-town to have lunch with me before the fun begins.

3. On Thursday, as Margaret knows, I was in a bit of a funk. I had sort of written off the job at WSU since the process was taking so long, and Trent and I were all gung-ho about staying in GA, saving money, not having to worry about trying to sell the house this summer. So, I took a day off from work and watched TV all day, like a slug.

4. On Friday, I got out of my funk and went to work. When, I got home, Trent and I decided to pay off our student loan debt--one last chunk. Now, we're DEBT FREE, except for our mortgage. Woohoo!!! Time to tall Dave Ramsey.

5. On Saturday, Trent and I went to our triathlon class and then headed to my church to help out at the work day, trimming shrubs. I was thankful for Trent's willingness to volunteer and share his strategies for managing huge, unruly plants.

We have decided to see what happens with this job search, now that it seems to be back on again. I'll have a stronger sense of what the position entails after my campus visit, and we'll figure out how to proceed from there.

I hope you all have a wonderful week. We love you and miss you!
