as time goes by

Well today I experienced what I have decided to call a rite of passage for seniors. I went into Longjohn Silvers for fish and saw a sign that said, senior discount so, I said, "can I have a senior discount?" I think I was sort of joking. But that kid didn't even bat an eye or ask my age or think I was to young, he just said, " you bet" and gave me a $1.15 off. I went and sat in a booth in shock waiting for my order. OH My GOD what has happened. When did twenty year olds seem so young. A $1.15 doesn't seem like enough for all the trouble getting here has been. What a rip off. I'm going into mourning for what ever it is I've lost. What a reality check.
On another note I went to a seminar on health and wellness and wouldn't you know it they served healthy snacks at the break, fruit and carrots and hummus. It looked very colorful but I wanted more. Where was the cheese, crackers and bologna. Well out of hunger I ate it. It was good so I search for hummus recipes you guys wrote about and I'm going to give it a try, and possibly that new dish Beth is taking about. I maybe the only one eating it though, I can't even get these guys to eat leftovers. Well I'm gooing to get my red hat out and be on my way. Good night fiddlerkin.

It must be Emporia, Kansas, Carol. The first time I was treated like a senior, before my time, was in Emporia. I think that happened at Burger King or Hardees. Now aren't you GLAD I bought you that red hat!

Hi, Carol!!! What a great story!! None of my FiddlerKin look like they could possibly deserve a senior discount, but if it can save you a buck or two, I say go for it!! Perhaps I'll go for it, too. I'll let you know how that experiment goes ...

Have fun with the hummus and tabbouleh. I think you'll really enjoy them both!! And, like I told Beth, who cares if the men in your house won't eat it--more for you!! Both of those items will keep in your fridge for awhile, and you can take them in your lunch. Mmmm, tasty. Good luck!

Carol, I made the tabouleh and it is very tasty. The recipe does make a lot. You would have your own personal side dish for a week. I eat it with rye bread because I like that combination of flavors. Traditionally, tabouleh is eaten with pita or flat bread. We really like rye bread in our household, though.

I agree with Katie. A dollar saved is a dollar earned. Now that you are over your shock, rejoice over your good "fortune." And again I say REJOICE. You don't look old to me.

On a serious note, please share with your Fiddler kin what you are doing to develop your Shaklee business, and why you were attracted to Shaklee in the first place. At least post the address of your Shaklee website so your family can take a look at it. I think we would like to hear how you and Tom went into business for yourselves.

Your posts are light hearted and fun to read. You are a wonderful writer with great writing skills. Please keep posting to inform us about your life and your introduction into the business world.

Have you dug out that RED HAT yet? And by the way, the red hatters might be interested in your products. There has to be a way to reach them. Just a thought.
