Hey, Fiddler Family (and their Relations)! Are you ready to reconnect? Let's use this blog to share and respond to the stories of our daily lives--from the monumental events to the everyday humdrums. Write about the books you're reading, the movies you're watching, the politics that piss you off. Let's share our frustrations and hurts, along with our successes and joys. Poetry, prose, lists, prayers, images--anything goes on this blog. It's time to reconnect.

You knock me out, Katie. Your poetry sounds effortless and percise. You have shown me a glimpse of your parents that I took for granted or didn't realize. I like all the poems, but my favorite is Geography. I often have trouble locating a place if I have never driven there.
There is a reason that you are a Professor of English. You are skilled at managing the English language. Nouns here. Verbs there. No subject is off limits as you carefully re-create all that you have observed.
Congratulations Ellen and Marshall! Happy Anniversary! I feel like I know you in a much more interesting way, thanks to your daughter.
Awww, shucks, Honor. Thanks. :) By the way, I shared with my students your posting from June 13, "The Weatherman."
We were talking about writing gifts, and I shared with them your and Grandma's gift of that precious memory. They were impressed by all the story-telling going on our family blog.
Of course, our blog is still password-protected (they can't access it)--I just projected it onto the big screen during class time. :)
My students also helped me revise a couple of the pieces for my parents: "Water Rocket" and "Favorite Memory."
Thanks again for your kind words. :)
Oh I loved all of this. What a wonderful glimpse into the world the four of you shared. It is amazing the color and vividness of your writing. It took me back to the days when Ellen and Marshall were first married and I remember the trips you all took. I didn't know all the small day to day life events, but reading your prose brought them to life and made them an experience to be enjoyed all these years later. Ellen and Marshall this is your life in married years. It seems like it has been a pretty darn good one. Happy anniversary.
I love the stories we share on this blog too, Katie. I wish I could monitor at least one of your classes. Your classes sound dynamic and inspiring. Sharing on the blog is pretty great too.
