Mini Garth

I like Garth Brooks, one song in particular called "Wrapped Up In You". It's a fun little song & I have been playing it in the car. Jacob really likes the song also & often will sing along. One evening he was walking around the house singing it so I decided to find the video on youtube. This is the link if anyone is interested. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mJx3g1_cOiU.
As you can see, it's a simple little video of Garth & friends sitting around with guitars, etc. Jacob watched this video a couple of times. A little bit after watching I found him in the spare bedroom trying to get into the closet. I asked him what he was doing. He said he wanted the guitar so I got it out for him. He then proceeded to start strumming it & sing the song. It was one of the cutest things I have ever seen. He repeated this the next evening as well. I think Peter was able to record it a little bit. Maybe we have a little musician, which would be interesting since we are not musical at all. I just wanted to share my sweet little story.

This is a sweet story. I think we have a lot of people in our family who appreciate music. Katie and Andy are the only ones I can think of on the Fiddler side who developed their musical talent. Music makes me happy and I think it makes Jacob happy too. Thanks for sharing this story.

I have to add that Thomas played an instrument in junior high. He was a pretty good musician.

Dad says it is interesting on what kids focus. He thinks Jacob likes the song because his Mommy does. Could be. Or maybe Beth and Jacob share the same taste in music.

That is too cute. I told your mom you should send that to Garth. He is making impressions on fans at an early age. Encourage that music aspect. They say kids who have an interest in music do better in school and often in life in general, plus it never hurts to have a talent---look at Susan Boyle.

Beth you should start a journal. These stories are great memories for you, Peter, Jacob and the rest of fiddlerkin. It takes a village. Your grandpa tried to get us to play the accordian. It didn't go well. Btu thats another story.

I love this! Thanks for sharing, Beth. I love your sweet anecdotes about Jacob. I agree with Carol that you should save these written stories and share them with Jacob some day.
