So teach us to number our days
that we may get a heart of wisdom.

psalm 90:12
a prayer of Moses

In regards to what fiddler wrote, The Last Lecture, man has been ponder his existance, usefulness and purpose for being here since at least the time of Moses. It isn't until we are older that it really hits us, what have I done with my life. We have mental snapshots of childhood and growing up and wonder why it all happened the way it did. We never have a plan for how things are suppose to be. Some may conclude that in the vastness of the universe we are insignificant and don't matter. But we do matter. God has made it so that we matter. That is the compass that will guide you through life if you ever get lost.

Thank you for reminding us that we are God's creation and that we matter to Him. I believe no act of kindness is insignificant to God. I guess as we grow older we realize that what we do to help one another is what life is all about. (That and finding the perfect melon.) I think my sisters all wear halos for everything they did for our parents. Nothing else they do will ever compare to the sacrifices they made on our parent's behalf.
