This summer I'm teaching a writing class for future teachers, so I've spent a lot of time writing myself (met my manuscript deadline, by the way--submitted the thing yesterday--wahoo!).
My first haiku is for Aunt Honor:
Honor's Stories
Comforting, care-filled
words span miles, generations
Smiling recollections
My second haiku is for my parents, who are celebrating 34 years of marriage today:
Anniversary
Eyes meet, fingers clasp
Step slide step, the dance goes on
thirty-four years strong
Getting physical

Katie those are such nice tributes to your parents and Aunt Honor. You have an anniversary coming up too. Will there be a haiku to honor your big day? In case I forget happy anniversary to you and Trent and to Ellen and Marshall, 34 years is a long time to step slide step and not trip.
